Dr. Erika Mabus

Dr Mabus graduated from the Pennsylvania College of optometry in 2013 as a Doctor of Optometry. Prior to that she graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelors of science in bio behavioral health. She is a current member of the American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and Optical Women’s Association.

Dr Mabus grew up in Turbotville, Pennsylvania and returned to the area in 2015 after working at a group ophthalmology practice in York, Pennsylvania and then began practicing at different private and retail practices in the north central Pennsylvania area.

In September 2018 Dr Mabus purchased Dr. Schmitt’s private practice of 30 years in Muncy, Pennsylvania and also opened her own practice in Laporte, Pennsylvania to serve the community of Sullivan County.

Dr Mabus has visited Laporte every summer since she was born, but decided to move there full time in 2015 and has been happily living in Sullivan County and enjoying time spent with her husband and daughter, running along the Loyalsock Creek, paddle boarding, and hiking with her dogs ever since.

Pam has 15 years of experience doing just about everything in our office. She currently will meet you in our pretest area to get you ready to see Dr. Mabus or she will be working in our billing department. She enjoys spending her weekends with her grandson.

sarah — Sarah

Sarah has over 10 years of experience working in multiple roles within an optometry or ophthalmology. She is currently our optician and office manager of our Laporte office and you may even see her helping out in our Muncy office as well. Sarah is also a loving mother to two wonderful young boys and she loves to spend time with them and her animals on their farmette.

Tricia

Tricia has over 20 years of experience working in health care. She has been with our team since Dr. Mabus bought the practice and will be happy to help you with your needs. Tricia is a local Lycoming county resident that loves spending time with her family.

Terri

Terri has 10 years of optical experience and has worked with Dr. Mabus since 2015. She will be happy to help you at either the Laporte or Muncy office. She loves spending time with her kids and husband and is an active member of the community and school district.

Laurie Houseknect has 25+ years of experience as an optician working with Dr. Schmitt in his practice and now with Dr. Mabus in our Muncy office. She is a local resident of Hughesville and enjoys spending time with her family and grand kids.

Jane

Jane has worked in optometry and ophthalmology since 2009 and worked with Dr. Mabus when she was an intern. We are thrilled to have her on our team! She will often meet you in our pretesting room to get you ready for your exam with Dr. Mabus, but you may find her helping out in many other areas of the office. Jane grew up in Lycoming county and will most likely be a familiar face to many of our patients.

Robin

Robin has 4 years of experience working with Dr. Mabus in our Laporte office. She is an active member of the community in Sullivan County and a valuable member of our team! She can help you with any of your glasses needs and will often get you ready to see Dr. Mabus prior to your appointment. Robin loves spending time with her children and her adorable dog.
